Hydrometallurgy

Recognising the growing importance of hydrometallurgy in both national and regional mining industries, Gecamin organises top level professional hydrometallurgy conferences with the aim of focusing on the recovery and concentration of metals from water solutions based on their ores and concentrates. Gecamin conferences related to this area include:

International Seminar on Process Hydrometallurgy – Hydroprocess
This seminar is held every two years. The most recent version was in August 2010 in Santiago, Chile. The technical programme included 45 presentations by authors representing 14 countries. Delegates from 47 mining companies were among the 261 participants who attended.

International Seminar on Copper Hydrometallurgy – Hydrocopper
This seminar is held every two years. The sixth and most recent version was in July 2011 in Viña del Mar, Chile. The technical programme included 41 presentations by authors representing 12 countries. Delegates from 38 mining companies were among the 295 participants who attended.

20th International Symposium onBiohydrometallurgy – IBS 2013
This symposium is held every two years. The last version of IBSwas held in September 2011 in Changsha, China. The next version will be held in October 2013 in Antofagasta, Chile.

19th International Solvent Extraction Conference – ISEC 2011
ISEC 2011was held in October 2011 in Santiago, Chile. The technical programme included 156 presentations by authors representing 34 countries. Delegates from 30 mining companies were among the 394 participants who attended. The next version will be held in September 2014 in Würzburg, Germany.
