In times where mining companies try to stay active in the face of low copper prices, innovation becomes a priority, albeit one not well explored. It is in this context the 12th International Mineral Processing Conference, Procemin 2016, will take place.
The event will be held the 26th through the 28th of October, 2016, at the Hotel Sheraton in Santiago, Chile. It will dive into innovation as a path, a challenge and a necessity to the mining sector.
The conference will have 3 days of technical sessions which will look into topics related to the management and operations of concentrator plans; the modeling, simulation and design process: comminution, crushing, grinding, HPGR; flotation; water resource optimization and tailings management; among others.
The objective of the event is to share experiences and encourage knowledge exchange in the following areas; industrial base metal, precious metal, iron, steel, and non-metal mining.
Furthermore, the seminar expects to identify and discuss the main challenges in value creation in mineral processing; the role of innovation, human resource management, and the contribution of the technology providers.
The seminar will also aim to generate a global network of contacts and technological information exchange with professionals dedicated to mineral processing.
Procemin 2016, organized by the Universidad de Concepción (UdeC) and Gecamin, will be presided by Jaime Sepúlveda, Executive Director of J - Consultores.
The last version of Procemin, organized in 2015, assembled over 300 attendees from 17 countries and had over 70 presentations.
