Enermin 2016 will present options on how to use energy efficiently

The 3rd International Seminar on Energy Management in Mining will take place from August 24-26 in the Hotel Grand Hyatt Santiago, Chile.

March 09 2016

In a scenario where energy consumption is increasing as new projects are carried out, mining companies need to find new ways to manage this resource efficiently.

The 3rd International Seminar on Energy Management in Mining will be an opportunity to learn about innovations and developments in the area of energy management and will take place from August 24-26 in the Hotel Grand Hyatt Santiago, Chile.

The seminar will cover important issues such as efficient energy use in mining and metallurgical processes, alternative energy sources and cogeneration, carbon footprint assessment and reduction, nuclear energy challenges and threats, and new energy projects for mining.

With “A more economical, cleaner and more efficient use of energy in mining” as its slogan, the seminar will be organized by The Energy Centre of the University of Chile and Gecamin. The event will be chaired by Nicolás Caussade, who is General Manager of Pattern Energy, Chile; and co-chaired by Guillermo Jiménez who is Director of the Energy Centre of the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, University of Chile.

The last version of Enermin was held in 2012 in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil and was attended by more than 150 delegates from 10 countries.
