One of the main objectives of the “Understanding Lean Transformation” course is to understand how to apply the lean model in companies working towards organizational transformation. This specialization course is being offered as part of the First International Seminar on Operational Excellence in Mining - Minexcellence 2016.
This course will allow participants to understand the five basic dimensions of organization change, gain insights into key elements of a lean organization and the Lean Transformation Framework (LTF) and use key questions to begin creating a framework to guide their organization’s transformation. The course is aimed at senior leaders, improvement deployment leaders, strategy officers, business improvement leaders, cost and productivity managers and operational excellence professionals.
The course will take place on Tuesday, March 29 at the Hotel Grand Hyatt Santiago. It will be taught by John Shook, Chairman and CEO of the Lean Enterprise Institute, USA and José Ferro, President of the Lean Institute, Brazil.
Professor Shook is a recognized Lean expert. He learned about lean management while working for Toyota for nearly 11 years in Japan and the U.S. helping it transfer production, engineering, and management systems from Japan to NUMMI and subsequently to other operations around the world. He has also published various books on the topic of lean management.
