Mining of the future: innovating, including, influencing
The concept of social license to operate has pushed the mining industry to be increasingly responsive to community voices. In the wake of this change, the language of corporate social responsibility, social license to operate and sustainable development must align with innovation in practice and meaningful avenues for society. Srmining 2015 will be an opportunity to learn about the real reach, importance and limitations of social responsibility.
Objectives
- Embed SR, ‘social license’ and ‘sustainable development’ into business practice.
- Discuss solutions to complex social issues and identify emerging trends.
- Share case studies of community relations practice and explore innovations.
- Build and strengthen networks of individuals and organizations concerned with enhancing the social performance of the mining industry.

Abstract Submission
We have received 82 abstracts from 23 countries.
Authors of approved abstracts must submit a 4 to 10-page full-length article, in English, by July 2, 2015.
All papers must be written in strict accordance with the Abstract Preparation Guide and must follow the established format and standards. See the Author's section for more details
