A note of thanks from the Organizing Committee
The Srmining 2013 Organizing Committee was proud to welcome over 230 attendees from 19 countries at the 2nd International Conference on Social Responsibility in Mining held in Santiago of Chile, where 61 lectures on Embed SR, ‘social licence’ and ‘sustainable development’ into business practice; Discuss solutions to complex social issues and identify emerging trends; Share case studies of community relations practice and explore innovations; Build and strengthen networks of individuals and organisations concerned with enhancing the social performance of the mining industry.
The value of dialogue and views on how to implement it were discussed at Srmining.
The second international conference on Social Responsibility in Mining brought together professionals from mining companies, NGOS, academia and local communities to share experiences and new strategies regarding social license and the industry’s responsibility in this area.
